May 12, 2025: “The Winston Blue"

This diamond holds the record for the highest price ever paid per carat for a blue diamond.

Back in 2014, the Harry Winston corporation purchased the diamond at an auction for more than $23,800,000.00. At that time, it was known as “The Blue”, until Nayla Hayek (CEO of Harry Winston, Inc.) renamed it “The Winston Blue”.

The Winston Blue is a flawless 13.22 carat fancy vivid blue stone

Until I took it and hid it in a place that no one would suspect, it was located at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C.

Can you guess where I hid it?

Check out the clues below and let me know where you think the fancy blue diamond is hidden.

May 12, 2025 – The area where I hid the blue diamond was once settled by the Romans. Many lived there prior to the Romans; however, they were mostly poor. The area wasn’t all that desirable, it was swampy, and the plague was a constant threat.

Even though it wasn’t an ideal place at the time, once royalty moved into the area, the place became more desirable. Nowadays the place is quite famous, the earliest known modern structure on the site was a brewery. I bet many people nowadays wish it still was.

May 17, 2025 – The hidden location of the blue diamond is in a home. The street where the home is located was named after a sometimes brutal and unpleasant man. However, he was an able diplomat and eventually awarded a knighthood. This man named the street after himself and built cheap houses with poor foundations, a bad decision based on the boggy ground.
Not the name’s sake of the blue diamond, but a different Winston once said about the homes on this street; “Shaky and lightly built by the profiteering contractor whose name they bear.”

May 25, 2025 – During man’s history, the Roman Empire ruled supreme at one time. At another time, Genghis Khan and the Mongol Empire ruled supreme. During early modern history, Spain ruled supreme at one time too, but in my opinion and in the overall sense of hierarchy, they made it to only 10th place.

Many countries have had significant influence on world politics and global events. There has been and always will be a great deal of debate on the exact order. This is my opinion of who’s had the most influence throughout history: United States, China, Russia, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Japan, India, Ottoman Empire, Spain and Portugal.

The country where the home is located that now hides the vivid blue stone is amongst the ones listed above. This country reigned supreme once in history by winning wars and significant sea battles against other countries listed. Throughout the modern era, this country has significant power.
If you can guess the country where the home is located, then you have narrowed down the location of where I hid The Winston Blue.

May 30, 2025 – The Winston Blue vivid blue stone is hidden in a house that sits on the edge of a palace. The palace was built by a king after he confiscated the neighboring house from a Cardinal back in 1530.

The house and surrounding land were huge. At one time in history, it had a Cockpit for bird fights and a Tiltyard for jousting.

Sometime later in history the house was “gifted” to the first person in charge of the country’s treasury. He refused the gift.

Throughout history the house was known by its occupants. Nowadays, like all homes, it has a street number. This house started life as number 5.

June 7, 2025 – George gave his name to the street where the house sits. Look inside the house and you will find The Winston Blue diamond hidden under a famous antique hooded Chippendale guard’s chair. Back in the day when an actual guard sat in the chair, he stayed warm by way of hot coals in a drawer under the chair.

A very powerful lady once said, while speaking of this house, that it was one of the most precious jewels in the national heritage.

Are you close? Can you see where the blue stone is hidden?

Check back next week when I reveal the location.

Give Up? Where is The Winston Blue hidden?

Let’s break down the clues.

A royal palace was built on this location back in the 11th century by Canute I.

The area has been the center of government of this country ever since.

In recorded history, there was a brewery in the area before the palace was built.

For a while there were many homes in this area, most were built cheaply by an unpleasant man named George.

The country where this house is located is considered the 4th overall with the most influence throughout history. Only just under The United States, China and Russia. This 4th place country once defeated the 10th place country (Spain) by defeating them in a great sea battle.

The country Spain nor the battle they lost has nothing to do with the house where The Winston Blue is hidden. I only mention it because of the number 10. Keep reading, you’ll see why.

Back in the 16th century, the King at that time wanted to build a huge palace. So, he took this house and a neighboring house and built a grand palace.

Later in history the house was gifted to Sir Robert Walpole, who held the title First Lord of the Treasury and effectively served as the first Prime Minister. Walpole refused the property as a personal gift. Instead, he asked the king to make it available as an official residence to him and to future First Lords of the Treasury – starting the tradition that continues today. The brass letterbox on the black front door is still engraved with this title.

In the beginning, the street number of this house was No. 5.

The street where this house sits was named after George Downing.

The house is now known as 10 Downing Street.

And yes, back in the day an armed guard would sit in a hooded chair (to protect him from the weather) just outside the iconic black door. He kept warm by using a drawer full of hot coals under the seat. The chair is on display inside the residence.

And now you know. The blue stone is under the chair at 10 Downing Street, Westminster London, United Kingdom

March 28, 2025: The Cullinan Brooch

It’s often referred to as the “Granny’s Chips”.

A cherished gift from her grandmother, Queen Mary.

Queen Elizabeth II is the owner of the iconic diamond brooch, considered to be the most valuable brooch in the world.

This brooch features the Cullinan III and the Cullinan IV diamonds, cut from the largest diamond ever discovered.

It’s estimated to be worth more than 60 million dollars.

Today the brooch can be seen amongst the Royal Collection in Buckingham Palace.

Queen Camilla wore the brooch during King Charles’ coronation.

That is until I removed it from her possession and hid the brooch in a place where it will never be found.

Unless you can discover its location.

Check out the clues below.

Oh, I replaced the brooch with a fake one, Queen Camilla never knew.

March 28, 2025  – Once I had the brooch in my possession, I hid it in plane site. The brooch sits at the top of a national park. So high that once nothing was visible above except sky. Everything else was smaller.

April 11, 2025 – The Battle of Lexington, Massachusetts, April 19, 1775, the famous ‘shot heard round the world’, marked the start of the American War of Independence (1775-83).

To commemorate the first battle of the American Revolution, many States around the country (USA) named cities, streets, townships, and counties after it – Lexington.

The brooch is hidden near one of them.

April 18, 2025 – This place has been around for a while. Evidence has been found that people have inhabited this area since 10,000 B.C.
Due to the fur trade and other agricultural interests, the Dutch claimed it as their own around 1609 or so.
A dozen years later the English ignored the Dutch and named the area after a Duke (the brother of King Charles II).
Did you know that 10 others held their hands up before they did.

April 25, 2025 – This guy was most likely referred to by his close friends and family as Bill.
He studied at the Pratt Institute and visited Paris where he received some sort of award.
While in Paris, he was influenced by works he was exposed to at an atelier, (French word meaning “workshop” or “artist’s studio.”)
This exposure influenced his work for years on elaborate ornamentation upon innovative cast-iron frames.
He passed away back in the mid 1950’s. But his work can still be seen at this national park and seen by others who have never visited the park.

May 2, 2025 – Noted in the clue above, this national park is a famous example of Art Deco architecture.

The structure is crooked in relation to the grid surrounding it.

The United States considers this place to be one of the most important places in the country.

You can enjoy an apple while you look down upon this place from a loftier height nearby.

Next week I’ll reveal the location.

Can you guess where I hid the Cullinan Brooch before then?

May 12, 2025 – The Cullinan Brooch is hidden at a National Historic Landmark.

During the golden era of skyscrapers, this building was the tallest in the entire world for about a year. Then something rose above its height, the Empire State Building. You can enjoy an “apple” (while visiting the big apple) and view this historic landmark “looking down” from the Empire State Building.

Back then (in the late 1920’s) and even today, this building is best seen from a “plane”.

As you can guess, the building is in New York City. There’s evidence that the area of New York has been inhabited since “10,000 BC”.

This building is located at 405 “Lexington” Avenue in midtown Manhattan near grand central station.

The building was designed by William “Bill” Van Alen, who studied at the Pratt Institute and in Paris.

Oddly though, the base of the building is crooked in relation to the street because the building was erected prior to the Manhattan street grid.

Have you guessed where the Cullinan Brooch is hidden?

If you thought of the Statue of Liberty or the World Trade Center or atop the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Plaza, you’d be wrong.

It is hidden at the top of “The Chrysler Building.”

January 24, 2025: The Dresden Green.

It’s transparent, about 41 carats and very rare.

Found in 1722 or around then, this natural green diamond has seen itself atop a hat.

Can you imagine that? A hat of all places!

The Saxons cherished it for years.

Once it was sold for 4 tons of gold.

Nowadays it’s safe and secure and can be seen at Dresden Castle, in Germany.

Although, it was nearly stolen back in 2019.

But I managed to do it. Can you find where I hide the rare green diamond?

Check out the clues below.

January 24, 2025 – To find the green diamond, you must first start your search in the land of tomorrow.

February 2, 2025 – This land of tomorrow, as some would call it, has a history of neighbors feuding with neighbors.

February 11, 2025 – Initially it was 20,000 total. Now it’s over 100,000. A nation’s army shot the place up just for practice.

February 19, 2025 – This place got its name from a general, the first ever to hold his position in this somewhat new government.

March 13, 2025 – The Dresden Diamond is rare and very special. However, it will have trouble shining amongst the other items  located in the same place. Such as the Magna Carta, The Gutenberg Bible, and some of the valuables once owned by St. Stephen, King of Hungary. Are you close? Do you think you know where the Dresden Diamond is hidden? Let me know if you do. Next week I will reveal the location.

March 28, 2025 – Kentucky means “land of tomorrow”, depending on who you ask.

The mountains of Kentucky were riddled with murders of feuding families.

Stay out of the Appalachian Mountains, to this day it’s not safe to call yourself a Hatfield or a McCoy.

The U.S. Army initially leased 20,000  thousand acres and used it as a field artillery training site.

It’s now over 100,000 acres in size and heavily guarded.

It was high ground, strategic and near railroad tracks.

General Henry Knox was our nation’s first “Secretary of War”.

Do you know now?

Yes, you are correct, the green diamond is hidden in Fort Knox.

December 13, 2024: The Hope Diamond.

The Hope diamond was named after one of its first documented owners, Henry Philip Hope. There are assorted stories surrounding the jewel. One story is that it sank with the Titanic. It was NOT on the ship that fateful day. The owner at that time, Evelyn Walsh McLean, did not board the Titanic. She and the diamond were not on the ship when it sank. Today, the diamond can be found at the Smithsonian in Washington DC. That is until I stole it and hid the diamond in a secret place. Can you find it?

December 13, 2024 – Its colorful name came from its street and surrounding brick walls. The Hope Diamond is close by.

December 20, 2024 – This terrible leader wanted to celebrate the victory over the Khanates.

January 3, 2025 – Because it was considered a masterpiece, it narrowly escaped being torn down during the era of Stalin.

January 10, 2025 – An iron curtain protected this place for years. Now, you can walk right in.

January 17, 2025 – Its real name is The Cathedral of the Intercession. If you know its common name, you will have discovered the location of where I hid the Hope Diamond.

January 24, 2025 – The Hope diamond is located in a secret spot behind a brick deep inside the walls of St. Basil’s Cathedral.

The cathedral is located at one end of Red Square in Moscow.

It was built/finished by Tsar Ivan the Terrible to commemorate his victory over the Khanate of Kazan.

It was officially dedicated to the Feast of the Intercession of the Virgin Mary.

The Cathedral of the Intercession is more commonly known as St. Basil’s Cathedral.

November 8, 2024 : The Crown Jewels of Ireland.

At one time the jewels were in a safe in Dublin Castle before they were stolen. Can you figure out where I hid them?

November 8, 2024 – If you visited this Florida city, the treasure found would be like finding a needle in a haystack!

November  15,  2024 – This town had a garden of birds, and the beer flowed free. Now you can scream from twisted heights.

November 22, 2024 – The jewels can be found on a street named in his honor in 1964, after his assassination.

November 29, 2024:  April 1, 1955, this was no joke. CBS said hello. Now they’re foxy. The number has not brought them bad luck.

December 8, 2024: To see, I send out a pulse of energy, then I listen for a return signal. I have the ability to detect a shift in motion. You will find the jewels within my “radome”, surrounded by fiberglass, protecting my face of sensors.

December 12, 2024: Back in 1963, JFK was assassinated. The City of Tampa renamed a stretch of road with three different names. Lafayette Street, portions of Grand Central Avenue and Memorial Highway were renamed Kennedy Boulevard back in 1664 to honor JFK. The jewels are located inside the Doppler Radar dome atop the tower at Fox 13 on Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa Florida. Kind of looks like a needle in a haystack. Fox 13 was originally affiliated with CBS prior to being a part of the Fox Network. Once upon a time, Busch Gardens was just that, a beautiful garden full of exotic birds. And yes, they served free beer (Budweiser). Now it’s a great place to find some of the best roller coaster rides in the state.
